At that moment I understood—I always pondered how God speaks to us. Who says God is bound by the five senses that we are bound by. If I had to choose a sense I would choose the sense of intelligent feeling. The Holy Spirit spoke, “Beautiful view.” I replied back, “Yes, thank you for giving all of this to me.” The Holy Spirit replied, “You’ve really grown.” I felt like bursting into tears at the realization that the creator of the universe can be so clear to us. I wondered if there was anything better in life. The Holy Spirit then said, “Don’t you enjoy your castle?” I replied humbly and sincerely, “Paying what I owe is who I am, Lord Holy Spirit. SandCastle is what I have.” A beautiful silence came over me–Why can’t “people” enjoy such silence together? The Holy Spirit replied “Lord Jesus once had a conversation with a man who had a personality like you, but much more money. But he loved his riches too much and thought he could earn his way into heaven.” I said, “The Young Rich Ruler? He has more money than me?” I understood the Holy Spirit laugh! He laughed! I didn’t hear God laugh, but that feeling that comes into the atmosphere at a joyous occasion... engulfed me. “Are you surprised? If I can grieve, I can laugh.” At that moment the wind picked up gracefully as did the tone of the Holy Spirit as he said, “You don’t have to Daniel, but I know in your heart you wouldn’t be at peace continuing in the life you have now.” I answered, “I’ll do it for Jesus—to pay my debt.” The Holy Spirit replied in Glory’s voice to which I mustered all my strength to listen to without crying. As I heard the first syllable I demanded my mind to, “Pay attention now, and cry after.” “It will be hard my big brother, you would have to leave SandCastle. God will have people help you along the way, but you’ll help God and at the very end, help yourself.” Immediately after I heard my sister’s voice, she and the Holy Spirit left...the clouds came back with perfect synchrony. It then rained harder than I had ever felt.
