About the Book
Brighton Mourning was a children’s chapter book about Brighton’s life. He was truly a “Good Boy” and shares his B-Right-On wisdom with kids through his pawprint rhymes. In Brighton Mourning, we sadly join Brighton in the peaceful end of his journey to the Rainbow Bridge. Yet Angel Brighton’s inspirational story does not end with death, but shines a bright light on the continuing circuit of an afterlife legacy of Hope, Faith and Love. This transparent end-of-life journey honors the profound grief experience of pet loss, while providing belief in the message of forever love. The author reflects the truth that “When you get a dog, you sign up for a broken heart, but it’s worth it.” It is a touching story about death within the comforting perspective of forever Spirit in the afterlife.
About the Author
Kathleen Stone has a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from Loyola University Chicago, with professional expertise in Gifted Education and Comparative & International Education. She has over 35 years of experience in public education at grades K-8 as Director of Gifted & Talented Education. Her previous book was "Brighton Morning - Doggone Ways of Wisdom to B-RIGHT-ON." It is a chapter book written for children ages 8-11. It tells the story of the everyday life of her English Golden Retriever named Brighton, from the dog's point of view. She is passionate about her English Crème Golden Retrievers named Brighton, Snowdon, and Enzo. Kathleen lives a suburb of Chicago. Upon retiring from public education, she has continued professional research and conference presentations related to international comparisons of PISA testing. . Her home life evolves around her English Crème Golden Retrievers. Plus she provides daily support and compassion to many dog lovers followers on a number of Facebook groups related to golden retrievers, canine cancer, and pet loss. She continues Brighton's legacy to "Brighton the lives of everyone she meets."
