About the Author
Valerie or Val, as she likes to be called, grew up in New Jersey and moved in her own personal covered wagon to Oregon after she had completed her training as a Registered Nurse. Her wagon was a 55 Chevy sedan. She has always been a prolific reader of all kinds of books and with all the other members of her family a lover of ‘words’. She considers herself a wordsmith. She has observed the domestic violence that occurs in this country and has tried to imagine a way to change the way the women think about themselves. She began her writing career in 1995 with writing poetry, a style of writing she had never liked and still doesn’t understand, but just poured out of her she said. She moved on to short stories and this is the first novel she has ever published.
