T’was the night before Christmas and all through the house, not a creature was stirring and I felt like a louse. I was tossing and turning; I just couldn’t sleep. I was worried about money. We were in debt so deep. The children were nestled all snug in their beds, but not dreaming of sugar plums like the old book said. My oldest one wanted just one thing: a bike. It was just so much cheaper when she rode a trike. The younger one’s hooked on video games already. Can we have back the days when he just wanted a stuffed teddy? I just couldn’t take it, I had to get up. I’d try some hot chocolate, maybe one little cup.
