Love
Let’s take a moment to get into a relaxed position. Take a deep breath in and slowly let it out. Now let’s try it again, but a little slower. Breathe in, fill up your belly, and slowly let it out. One more time, a deep breath in, filling up all the way down to your toes, and slowly let it out. Now let’s begin.
If you feel comfortable, close your eyes and imagine taking a walk down a quiet path. It is just before sunset. You are walking through a very lush forest and you can feel the coolness of the shade surrounding you on this very warm day. The sunlight is peeking through on your right, intensifying the already bright, beautiful, green leaves; this forest is a magical place. You are following a footpath, winding uphill and between the trees, all the while, feeling the soft earth beneath your feet. The farther you travel along the path, the more you connect with all the love that surrounds you, the trees providing air for you to breathe and the earth gently supporting your every step. Your heart is full, overflowing with love and gratitude. With each breath you take there is a deepening sense of fullness in your heart shining through your whole body. You feel light as air, like you are floating along the path instead of walking it. This fullness in your heart is a wonderful feeling that opens you up to this knowing. It’s a knowing that you can always feel such a deep love and gratitude, but sometimes it takes getting quiet and being in nature to reconnect with it.
Up and up you climb until you begin to notice the trees getting less dense while the sunset is becoming more colourful. When you reach the end of the path, you see you are now are standing on a cliff, overlooking a huge forest that seems to go on forever.
The sunlight is touching all of the beautiful green leaves, making them so bright and vivid they are almost glowing. The wind is blowing around you and you open up your arms to the sky, as if you are sharing all the love and gratitude in your heart with all of the Earth. As you send this love and gratitude out, within seconds it comes back to you, hitting you like a wave of emotion. What a beautifully breathtaking experience. Standing there, placing your hand on your heart, you are amazed that this tiny intention to share your love and gratitude could be returned to you so quickly and ten times more than you gave out. From this moment on, you will always remember how to connect to this feeling; kindly touching your heart will lead the way.
As you are standing, you notice that the grass beneath your feet is the softest, lushest grass that you have ever felt. You sit down to fully take pleasure in this feeling. As you close your eyes, you focus on your heart. All of the love inside of you feels as though your heart has blossomed like a beautiful flower inside of your chest. You feel the abundance of love flowing through you and around you, as you feel your hands soothingly at the centre of your chest. With each breath, you are breathing in more love and releasing any negative or difficult emotions that are left. You send this energy to the earth and just as trees transform our breath into more fresh air to breathe, our negative energy is transformed into the purest love and returned to us. What a wonderful feeling, knowing that this ability was inside you all along, like a secret passageway that you had never found before, now you know the way to feeling a full heart.
Repeat: “I love myself and I am filled with love. I share this love with everyone. I release any difficult feelings to the earth to be transformed into the purest love.”
Now that you have connected to the love within you, bring your awareness back to your body, back to your breath and open your eyes.
