Many years later during Christmas break from college. I happened to be home as Mom started decorating the tree. She opened her special box of ornaments and cherished each one. Tears rolled down her cheeks as she hung them on the branches. “Mom, you seem so sad. Are you sure you’re ok?” I asked. “Sean, someday you’ll understand when you have children of your own. I just miss when you were all little as the years have flown by. These are tears of happiness remembering our stories and feeling our love.”

About the Book
Traditions can add such value to a family dynamic. I began buying each child a special ornament every year to hang on the Christmas tree from the time they were born. Many of those ornaments were from family trips or special occasions. When the children were young, they created handmade ornaments at school for me, which I cherish to this day. Each year we would take time to share stories about our special ornaments as we decorate the Christmas tree. The bonding and the love expressed during this time is immeasurable.
About the Author
Theresa James is a survivor of a life-altering event, which she shared in her first book, Healing Tears, in hopes of inspiring and helping others in their own life’s struggles. Her personal journey of healing has been long but one through which she has remained strong and positive. She has begun writing her children’s books honoring the lives of her children: Sean, Jarod, and Brandi. I Love and Like You was released the summer of 2017. James was born in Southern Indiana and is a proud veteran of the US Air Force. After living in the Chicagoland area for 9 years, she now resides in Indiana with her husband, Todd.
