The Now-ist

In hind-site, I am very thankful for these experiences. I was blessed with first-hand “real-life” worldly living. My awareness of living in the world and not of the world was completely shaped whilst in Manhattan. It felt like I went through a time machine. God gave me a glimpse into the truth of who I really am. I feel fortunate to have gone through it so quickly. Never could I have imagined learning these universal lessons in the manner delivered. Once my life’s situation was through with me, it let go. At this point, I feel that most people have two choices: “You can’t beat ‘em, so let’s join em” or “Become One with God.” When the masses follow the way of the world, it is like a train on a track. We are all riding along, not aware of the choice we have to flip the switch and choose a different direction of travel. The certainty and strange comfort the train provides is magnetic and unconscious. It seems like human nature to want to fit in and be just like everybody else. I did ride the subway while I was modeling in New York. The faces I looked into while on the train were drawn and seemed beaten by the world. This lasting image reminds me of a clever comparison Tony Robbins made to boxes and human beings. “We sleep in our box-shaped beds. We go to work in our box cars. We work in our box work space while looking at a box computer. We go home and look at a box television and then go to the refrigerator for a cylinder to create some variety.” When I remember those faces on the subway train, this was the collective feeling. It might sound cliche, but thinking “outside of the box” is the only way to freedom from group think. You are now left with your other choice. “Become One with God.” When the world is done with you, it does not look back and wait for an answer. We all have these moments in our lives that shape our destiny. This choice is usually much more difficult to make. It means bucking the world and going it alone, so to speak. You might even be so conditioned that it feels counterintuitive to leave the world of “10,000 things,” as Lao Tzu calls it. The familiarity the world provides is speciously attractive. Do not get sucked into the trap. Remember: “There is no way to happiness; happiness is the way.” To feel Good, is to feel God. We are feeling beings. When you get to that moment in your life, when you are ready to make that choice, always remember, the thought will be the lie and the feeling will be the truth. Arguably the most brilliant thinker of the 20th century was Albert Einstein. He poignantly encourages us to deal with this choice in his quotation, “There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.” Life will give you whatever you focus on. The saying, “Energy flows where your focus goes,” is pointing you in the direction of your life. Via the Law of Attraction, this is an eminent fact. Should you choose to focus your attention on the things of the world, you will gain the worldly possessions you desire. You will identify with them and build yourself an ego-based existence. After all, the mantra of the ego is, “I am what I have, I am what I do, and I am what people think of me.” You will also be dominated by having to ensure them, worry about them being stolen, lost, or destroyed. Yes, if you choose to completely identify with the world of the 10,000 things, you will be held to the restraints of that choice. The animated movie Aladdin, illustrates this point perfectly. In one of the final scenes of the movie, the villain steals Aladdin’s lamp. After some coaxing from Aladdin, he realizes that if he wants to make the most out of his final wish, he should ask to be the most powerful genie in the universe. The genie grants the antagonist his wish and he becomes this enormous powerful genie. There is only one problem. He is bound by the curse of the lamp. All of his massive power is confined to a little bitty lamp. He is restrained by the very thing he obsessed over, to be in the world and not of the world. This is the challenge we all face daily. To be a Bi-Terrestrial is to live in oneness with that duality, to fuse the higher-self and lower-self in one being and to have your imagination firmly in your heart. You hover above planet earth, seeing your lower self with all of its doing. The higher self is guiding you all along the way of your desire, tempering you with the truth about materialism, never allowing to be overtaken by the world and its allure. You make decisions and those choices shape your life. Always focus on the higher good and therefore God.
