Wolinga, the wild wobbley bird, flew wildly around the whirlpool wondering when it would stop. Suddenly, a Burrum seashell fell from the clouds into the whirlpool and went down, and down, to the bottom of the sea. Wolinga wondered when a fish would swim by to eat for his dinner. Wolinga flew around and out of the corner of his eye he suddenly saw a fisherman fishing. Wolinga flew over to his canoe to see if a fish was sitting in the fisherman’s basket. He flew up above the boat and flew around and around, and then down and down into the canoe, and snatched the fish out of the basket. (The full story comes with ten beautiful illustrations).

S.G.GRAHAMis an Aboriginal elder of the Dalungburra people, who are part of the Butchulla Nation in Queensland, Australia. The author writes and illustrates stories for children so that they can gain insight into the culture of Australia’s First People. The stories are based on true events.
