This is a love story,
A story of space and time convergence,
A story of messages from the soul,
Of union in spite of separation, Of eternal love in spite of a long time and distant spaces.
•Space: Argentina, Buenos Aires, Clara´s living room.
•Time: Today.
Clara and Stella have finished their university careers and are working together on a project. This time Stella is telling Clara about something that is worrying her. She is in conflict with her feelings, with a love for a man. She seems to be in love but at the same time feels incomplete. She feels that a decision has to be made but this is tormenting her, her ambiguous feelings are not letting her advance towards it.
- I don’t know what to do, Stella says desperately. Perhaps I should see a witch…Someone to guide me, someone to help me!
- Wait a minute! Clara answers anxiously…and remembering she says: - I once went to see a graphologist whom I was told was a fortune-teller. She predicted several things that years later happened with a strange precision, for example, she fore-told my wedding date within a three month´s range, and this happened more than six years before I got married, when I had no idea I would. She also said my hand was ¨marked¨ with traveling lines.
- I´m going upstairs to look for a little box where I have kept memoirs from times when I was single, I think I have this woman´s address there!
Clara runs briskly up the stairs. She starts searching inside the little box. It is full of papers. She is sure she had a card with the telephone or address she is looking for. Suddenly, she sees an envelope she recognizes. She picks it up, turns it round and notices that inside it, there is a sheet of paper torn from a spiral notebook. Clara is now forty two years old and finds a letter she read seventeen years ago. She had kept this letter for seventeen years…
She opens the envelope and begins to read…. Clara reaches the fourth line and realizes she cannot continue reading due to the tears in her eyes. An enormous, profound and beyond description emotion takes over her. She was reading, or trying to read, the letter Daniel had written before she got married. With tears rolling down and the sheet of paper in her hand, she went downstairs and said to Stella:
- I am sorry, but I couldn’t find the address.
Stella looks at her in amazement, Clara is crying while she says this, which obviously doesn’t make much sense.
- What is wrong? Why are you crying? – Stella looks shocked.
- I didn’t find the address but, look at what I have found!
Clara begins to read Daniel´s letter she had kept for so long, the paper has gone somewhat yellow after 17 years.
•Space: South America, Argentina, Buenos Aires.
•Time: 25 years ago.
It´s Sunday morning, Daniel wakes up, goes to the bathroom, showers, gets dressed, splashes some perfume around his neck and drinks some coffee in a hurry. His mother cannot believe he is up so early on a Sunday.
-I am off old girl. – He said warmly.
-And where are you going so early on a Sunday? She asked in surprise.
-I have a lesson with Clara, mum.
-Today?
-Yes mum… Bye!
He gets on his motorbike as fast as he can and disappears round the corner.
-This boy is going to drive me crazy! She mumbles – one day he says he is not going to study, that he doesn’t care about school, and then he wakes up early on a Sunday and dashes off to take a lesson.
