About the Book

A gentle and colorful world of rainbows, magical trees, and guardian animals invites readers to travel afar in order to go within. Inspired by yoga and meditation, this intuitive book speaks to the hearts of even the youngest of readers.

“Danila Marii must have been covered in a cloud of magical dust or overcome by a wave of Shakti (yoga’s creative energy) while writing My Tree and Me.

“The words, shapes, and brilliant colors appear to pour onto the page deep from within, giving life to an enchanted tale of each individual’s soulful journey of self-discovery. This book is not solely dedicated to children, but it also relates something precious to adults who allow themselves to be lead back to their true essence.

“While reading the book, I imagine children leafing through the pages, playing, and jumping inside every colorful image. I see adults engaging with their child’s emotions, joining them on a guided journey that envelopes their senses and expands their emotions.

“I truly believe this book to be so very profound, yet so gentle as to interact on so many levels and dimensions. It tackles important issues without becoming overwhelming, instead playfully involving the reader in a mysterious and joyful game. Every child (and inner child) will approach life with more awareness, serenity, truth, and courage after having read My Tree and Me.”

- Ylenia Malti - yoga instructor, specialised in yoga therapy for children

About the Author

This book was written when Danila’s delightful twins were just four years of age. During children’s tender years, their ability to imagine is innate and uncensored: their love of play leads them to discovery and learning. Yoga and meditation became exactly that for Danila and her children: playtime where the imagination ran wild and feelings were uncensored. On the wings of a strong intuition, My Tree and Me was scribbled on pieces of paper at dawn before the house came to life; a time all parents know is magically filled with the promise of being a better parent, partner, friend, and human being. The book became their personal guide in the never-ending game of finding better ways to communicate. It was read at the children’s kindergarten and Mesha became a puppet that led reading time. It was taken on as a basis for a yoga class for children and now, finally, it is a book for many children to dive into and explore.

The delightful images inside the book were illustrated by Danila and her children as an invitation for all to explore their own personal rainbow tree and its many colours—it’s all part of the journey.
