Gift From The Heart

A young couple dream of the birth of their first child. A special little angel dreams of making his trip to Earth to be born into a loving family. He had shiny blond curls and soft, warm, brown eyes. And when he smiled it was as if the sun shone right into your heart. They called him Sunsmile.

Another little angel called Scamper is about to make his trip to Earth to be born. “Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear,” he cried and, as he sat down on his special little star, a huge tear slid slowly down his cheek.

Well, it just so happened that Sunsmile, who was sitting close by putting the finishing touches on his wings for his journey to Earth, felt as sadness touch his heart.

“Someone’s crying in the heavens,” he thought and he put his wings down very carefully and looked around. “What is it Scamper? You’ve lost your smile,” said Sunsmile putting an arm around his friend. “Please don’t cry.”

“It’s not my smile I’ve lost but my special wings and without them I cannot make the trip to Earth tonight. Oh Sunsmile, what will I do? I have been chosen to be the first baby born on New Year’s Day. If I don’t find my wings I won’t be able to go tonight.” And with that, Scamper put his head in his hands and cried great tears of sadness.”

Well, this was too much for Sunsmile. “Come on Scamper,” he said. “I’ll help you find your wings. We still have three hours before the Great Golden Bell rings out for everyone to take their places for the journey down to Earth. I know we will find your wings in time.”

They searched high and low, near and far, under and over and even in-between but they could not find Scamper’s wings anywhere at all.

Will they find the wings before the Great Golden Bell rings out?
