Lets start with how you came to pick up this book. You got dumped… divorce is on the horizon, you got yourself out of an unhealthy, codependent relationship… you have been widowed, you are currently in a relationship and somehow have lost yourself, or you just have realized that until you work on you, you will never find your Soul Mate. So right here and now I say to you, if you don’t find your OWN SOUL, how will you EVER find its mate?
A few years ago my niece showed up at my door ready to change her young 21 year old life. She had just ended a very unhealthy, energy sucking relationship and now had a new motto, “Boy Free Working On ME.” 21! Years ahead of the path that most of our sisterhood takes. With great female pride and definitely some ego, I applauded her wholeheartedly, “You Go Girl!” Her work began. It was then that I realized that every woman I was seeing in my Therapy practice at the time was going through the same thing. Dumper or dumpee, heartbroken or feeling free, they were in my office to find their “self” again. When I offered that phrase to them as their new motto “Guy free working on me” they all reacted with this huge sense of “DAMN RIGHT! It’s my turn.”
