Peace
Many people today are drawn to a personal quest for peace. Whether you are drawn to work toward world peace, or you simply want to bring more peace to your neighborhood or family, the quest for peace is a noble one.
Sometimes it feels as if we live in tumultuous times. There are wars and violence all around us. Alcohol and drug abuse is a worldwide epidemic, and all of us have been affected on some level. The divorce rate is higher than ever. We hear constantly about the rate of unemployment and the difficult economy. If this is what we focus on, this is what we will continue to create. Let us be part of the solution. Let peace begin with each of us.
The best way to allow peace to manifest in our lives is to lead by example. Whether by fostering good relationships between people, being at peace with nature, or taking practical action to benefit the world around you; you can be an instrument of peace.
I think of the words of Jesus when he was calming the rough waters, he simply said, "Peace, be still." We can learn from this example when we apply it to the anxiousness within our heart and soul. When we get into compulsive worry, we can reflect on the words "Peace, be still." When we are at peace, we bring peacefulness to the world around us. Difficult situations become easier to manage, and lose their power over us.
My favorite scripture is Proverbs 46:10: "Be still and know that I am God." When I allow this simple affirmation to be infused into my heart, my soul, and my very being, I am filled with peace and bring peace to each situation I encounter.

About the Author
With two decades of experience as a therapist and a practitioner of mind-body medicine, Rhonda McBride has a deep belief in a person's ability to heal themselves physically, emotionally and mentally. She has been writing inspirations for clients, friends and colleagues for some time; she believes that Divine Spirit was working within her during this writing, teaching her to trust in her own intuition and to share this message with others. Rhonda is the owner of A New Approach Counseling Services, in Houston, Texas. She is blessed with a wonderful husband, three children, and three grandchildren.
