Each guest has a unique passion they have pursued and each of them hail from the Blue Mountains and Penrith region (west of Sydney, Australia). Their passion sits within the realms of arts, sports and entertainment. The concepts discussed in this book stretch far beyond that group and are applicable to each of us. The choice of guests was deliberate, as it reiterates that society is full of many amazing people, that regardless of our upbringing we each have a burning passion inside of us and a unique way in which we live our lives. I owe a huge thanks to the guests of the Passion and Perspective Podcast. Their honesty, openness and amazing experiences form the basis of the content you will read. Each of the guests has a unique and intriguing story to share, yet there are many common themes and insights that they reference, and I hope you find them helpful. This book is about the journey of life. It showcases how we are able to forgo the ‘end game’ and throw ourselves into our passions and experience the richness of life. Passion, in this context, is about a relentless pursuit of the journey and the experiences it offers. In a world where success is dictated by external forces (our ranking at work, the number of followers we have online and the net worth we have accrued), Redefine Success challenges this myth and encourages you to run your own race and create your own path. To redefine success is not to prescribe what you should do with your life. Each person has their passion and their desires to which they want to pursue. This book does not seek to dictate those terms. What the book does do - and I hope you take from it - is to question why you do what you do, and how you live your life. What you do is unique to you. How you do it is what can be easily influenced when we lose control of our paths and let the outside world dictate our measures of success. Hosting the Passion and Perspective Podcast has had a deep and refreshing impact on my life. Listening firsthand to the inspiring journeys of these incredible individuals has taught me to cherish the moment and to immerse myself into the process. The tips and lessons shared by the guests are applicable to all aspects of our life. There are many thoughts and insights throughout the book, some will be applicable to you, some will not be. Take or leave what you see fit for you. By reading this book I hope that you seize the opportunity to shape your own journey, to let your passion lead you to amazing experiences and a fulfilling life.
