Many of us often wonder who is acting inside us and ruling us. Sometimes we may not know the “true us”—someone inside us who is always opposing and working negatively against us. At the same time, when we feel positive, vibrancy flows inside our bodies, and we feel purity and godliness inside. We may need to understand ourselves more than we understand the outside world. Even though the body is one and all the organs are inside it, the body, soul, and mind are often perceived as separate. But one needs the other for satisfying its needs. It is like a parasite that depends on its host. Who the parasite is and who the host is depends on you now. Obeying your soul and your mind is what will take you to the Holy Feet.
The human body is God’s gift. It is blessed, superior, complicated, and unique. Humans have very efficient bodies, more so than many other creatures on earth. Generally speaking, the human body can actively work for a prolonged time; it can perform a large number of actions and activities by consuming the energy in it like a machine. That body should be mentally and physically strong to lead a successful life. Spiritually speaking, the human body alone can do intensive meditation; it can perform intricate and complex yoga, do massive and extreme dance, produce vibrant music from instruments, and sing like the angels in heaven. Such a human body will always be God’s favorite on earth. It can store energy inside and turn that energy into achievement. It has made precious things on earth—with the help of the mind, of course—thereby differentiating human-made and God-made. Such a great effect the body has made since the Stone Age.
One who doesn’t consider or feel that his or her body is precious is simply blind. When compared with all other things in the world, your body is the greatest gift and rarest present on earth, given by the Almighty. It is understood that God has given his own form to human beings to live life. I always presume the body is taken from God and should be returned in the same way, taking the utmost care of it, feeding it with spiritual energy, and letting it live in the sense of him. Spiritual care of the body is the earnest duty of the body’s owner. Simple ways of spiritual care include praying, singing, and chanting.
The next step in spiritual care of the body involves doing yoga and meditation, which is always thought difficult to perform in one’s mind. Spiritual pleasure is another essence one can feed to the body. Constantly thinking of the Almighty will give your body spiritual pleasure. Constantly thinking of the Lord can be done in several ways, depending on your interest. This includes reading his stories, chanting his name, continuous praying, and preaching to others. By doing this, your body energizes positively and you are taken toward godliness. When you understand yourself deeply in a spiritual way, there are no sorrows. Love is the basic example for one to act in a spiritual way. Seeing God everywhere and in everything is one form of spirituality.
This priceless body sometimes gets into trouble, becoming stressed, ashamed, and worried. It loses its manners and sometimes dies worthless. There is always a cause for these worst-case situations. Your mind is the cause of all such problems. The body is pure and is never a culprit. The mischief comes from the mind.
The mind should not always be considered bad. It is what makes everything happen on earth. It has made things and destroyed things. It is the nature of the mind to always slip from its good thinking, as it is too fast in its working—faster than the speed of light. It controls multiple actions and makes things happen. It slips from its good nature because of negative thoughts. Humans’ five disgraceful natures (negative thoughts)—selfishness, ego, anger, desire, and greed—make the mind slip. I call these spiritual disturbances. Good and bad always prevail in the mind, in which bad should simply be neglected. To be on the positive side comes only with the support of God. Praying and thinking of the Almighty removes the negative thoughts from one’s mind. If a wicked nature is retained in the mind, it soon brings disrespect to its body and to its surroundings. The mind is the controller. Only the mind can take you to the Lord’s feet. If the mind is controlled, then the feet of the Lord will soon be visible with the help of your soul because the soul is simply the Lord’s own abode.
