About the Book
Words of Endorsement for Hope’s Cape of Courage
“Heather captures the compelling human nature to heal from physical and/ or soulful wounds that may take decades to recover from if not brought into the light. Then, the ability to trust and to love are restored. Her words are a must-read for anyone who has suffered harm.”
—Rene Collins, EdD

“Hope’s Cape of Courage reminds us that even in darkness there is light, that in suffering there is the promise of renewal, and that healing is the most important gift we can give to ourselves. Hope’s story is a window that allows children access to the bravery it takes to recover our spirit after traumatic events making visible the love and resilience required to do so.”

Hope loves wearing her pink tutu, crazy socks, and tap shoes. She dances everywhere she goes, feels what others are feeling, sees magical things in the world, and believes that fairies live in the woods near her house. Unfortunately, there are a few people who are afraid of Hope and even a little jealous because she is such a happy little girl.
One day while playing in the woods with her cat, Remus, Hope decides to build a village for the fairies. Lined with beautiful paths and gardens, the village grows every day until it is an entire fairy community. But when a shadow moves over the village and destroys her magical creation, an angry Hope decides she will never love anyone or anything again. When the fairies emerge from hiding to offer wisdom, Hope learns to open her heart to forgive, love unconditionally, and courageously try again.
Hope’s Cape of Courage is the story of a little girl who, with help from her magical friends from the forest, finds a way to release her pain and forgive.
