I am known as “Writer” to many in the Spirit World, and I write their stories as they tell them to me.
A hush fell over the crowd as the soldiers stood snapping to attention. A pilot walked down the aisle. I knew he was a pilot by the flight suit, the instrument board strapped to his leg, his helmet, and air mask. I knew he was a pilot because he was my dad. With him walked the White Soldier, a spirit who appears on the battlefield to bring soldiers who had passed home. Why had the White Soldier come, who was going to pass?
Jeffery C., the soldier who had come through with the children to ask me to write my last book When Spirits Speak: A Gathering of Heroes, stood and came towards me. “This is for you, Writer,” he said, unfolding his hand to present me with a roughly carved small wooden bird with long legs. “It’s a stiltbird, Writer. This is the carver,” he said as a tall man moved out from behind him. “The legal system failed him, Writer. Set them straight.” “John Adam Buck -Johnny.”
Waiting for the children and the soldiers to leave, as was customary once they had come to bring me my next “assignment,” all eyes turned towards me. My dad stepped forward this time, standing in front of me. “And you, Writer, this is your time as well. We have helped you find your Voice once again. Use it now.
Let creativity flow into all you touch, speak, write. Even your plating of this last/first meal may speak to your creativity. Every thought you think is a creation of its own. I accept full responsibility for creating my dis-ease and everything surrounding it. Do I wish I had done it differently? Perhaps I needed the lessons this particular path afforded me.
Never forget that every one of you came into this lifetime to create. Do it! When you stumble across a quotation or something that catches your attention, grab onto it, claim it, and make it yours.
This journey into finding and hearing my Voice has been healthy. The words were just waiting for an invitation to spring forth. I have much to say through my words, to honor all we are, and to bring hope that there is a world, another life, after this one—a new beginning.
I learned in finding my own Voice that what you put into living, you get back. But you have to put it in; daydream and visualize whatever/however you want your life to be.
In that next chapter in my life, words—lots and lots of words—will flow from my mouth, words born deep in my soul, just waiting for an opportunity to come forth. Words guide others into their own futures. Some words bring forth the truth for all to hear, as we gather as one to move forward into new beginnings. My words, these words are meant to bring healing to many a searching soul.
These are words to weave ourselves back together when our energy is fractured by everyday life within this society. “Words to speak our futures,” says the Raven.
I was letting the past go and, like the Phoenix who rises from the flames of the fire, I too had survived the fire and the drought. I was looking forward to my future. What would I choose? What would you, the reader, choose? Pretend you know it is to be your last day on Earth with your family, heavenly family included. Friends are gathered around and they have each brought you your last food choices to enjoy.
What would those food choices be and why? A last meal to celebrate/commemorate your life? Perhaps a last meal celebrating the passing of your old life to make way for your new beginnings? Never forget the magic life has to offer.
Jeri Tory Conklin is a gifted communicator with the Spirit World. Her latest journey into last meals of executed prisoners and food choices for letting go of her past, challenges each of us to think about what our last meal choices might be and why. Thinking she was done, the Spirit World challenged her to pick a food to celebrate a new beginning as she returned to working with the Spirit World after a lengthy illness. Lessons learned, Soul Groups, Energy Centers/Chakras and recipes make this another of her inspirational books.
“When Spirits Speak: Stiltbird’s Last Supper” book challenges one to think about the food choices they would make if it was to be their last day on earth or letting go of a past. Or perhaps to celebrate a new beginning. Lessons learned, Soul Groups, Energy Centers/Chakras and recipes make this another of her inspirational books.
In Jeri Conklin’s latest book, “When Spirits Speak: Stiltbird’s Last Supper”, her ability to communicate with the Spirit World allows us to experience not only her own story of celebrating her past, making way for her new beginnings, but also that of Johnny as he looks back on his life. Jeri challenges you to think about what your symbolic “last meal” would be if given the chance to leave your old way of life behind and choose a new beginning.

“The Writer” carefully crafts the story of John Adam Buck, his life and death, as told through the Spirit World. The choice of Johnny’s last meal on earth allows the author to weave three stories. That of Johnny Buck, that of Soul Groups, and ultimately, the story of her own spiritual path being interrupted and reborn. This little book is packed with messages. If you are drawn to the idea of your last meal, or drawn to the discovery of your own Spiritual Journey, this book is for you! Bon voyage. You will Enjoy it!
