I want to discuss three F words! The first one is failure which in the digital world is not of consequence in my eyes. In the digital world we have to participate! We live in this new ''participation economy'' in which if you don't join in then you don't exist. It is of critical importance for anyone going forward to be constantly being in this process. This is the only way you learn. For me the concept of failure has gotten a cease and desist order in my brain. By doing this I take so much pressure off of myself and just think what I am attempting to do. Failure with the next F word which is fear are two of the most powerful elements stopping individuals from trying new things and ideas. You have to take some type of risk in order to move forward. There is no safety net or guarantee but to participate. I am stating that I have replaced the F words with the E word. This word being experiment. If you are experimenting with the end game being to learn and compare then you will progress! By viewing from this mind set you will always be in a position of learning. Without continuous experiments the world would stand still. If individuals were not experimenting we would certainly not have lights and jet travel. Fear and failure have been stripped out my mindset for experiment. This change allows me to participate freely. The whole biology of the web is based on these two attributes experimenting and participation. Once I removed fear/failure out of my mind set I just started progressing and reinventing myself. Fear and failure are dream killers! They stop all things from happening. Embracing the digital native lifestyle has erased these two elements most of the time. I am still human and every so often get taken back to the antiquated thought process that is still pervasive around me on a daily basis. The last f word is finished! We are always building and beginning now. The web is always shifting the quote unquote finish line. There is always new research, information and invention that can disrupt! The world is not a static environment anymore. For me now I live in a world of abrupt and incremental change. I wake up every day knowing I have a chance to change my trajectory. From now on I accept that everything is a work in progress.
