The definition of the word recovery is expansive. But - where I'm from the word recovery was typically reserved for “certain” folk. You know...pill poppers, crack heads, alcoholics, obsessive criminals and every other type of user. My sprouting years were painful and taught me better. I've had one of Oprah's famous "Aha Moments." I learned that when you experience any form of trauma or suffering, there should be a period of recovery. Recovery from feeling like a victim, so that you can rise to your real position in life - a survivor.

About the Author
NickyPurple is a Mother of three, activist, and business woman. She gained the inspiration for her debut book from her own recovery journey. She recognized the power of storytelling to heal and lives to be a beacon for those who aren't as forthcoming about their trauma. She currently resides in Atlanta by way of Cleveland, Ohio.
