A Note From Author, Deborah Williamson:
You Will Make Your Way
I strongly believe that we know everything we need to know to live our own best lives. We are amazingly intuitive and resourceful beings. When we lack specific information on what is needed, we have one of two choices:
(1) Make a decision & learn from what happens next, (faith / reflection / growth / new action).
(2) Use existing know-how to reach out for help or ask questions, (discovery / growth / new action).
While both are perfectly acceptable ways of navigating a happy & successful life, there is plenty of magic in trusting the power of your own intuition & ability to make decisions in real time.
Think about it this way:
Imagine that you’re walking down a path in a beautiful valley on a clear & sunny day. The way forward is easy & clear. Suddenly, you turn a corner & find yourself confronted by a magnificently wide & rocky river.
You have several options in this moment:
• You can turn around & go back, giving up on getting to your intended destination.
• Or, you can take the first step out onto one of the rocks in the river.
Let’s say you step onto a rock. From your new vantage point, you see another rock and choose to step onto it. Then you see another, and another, and another. Before you know it, you’re all the way across what at first seemed like an unsurmountable obstacle!
Life is like this river. We don’t always know how to move forward until we take the first step (or make the first decision). Taking action, any action, often brings relief from stress and helps us to see more clearly what is available to us.
I’ve put this program together with tons of great recipes, meal blueprints and information, but not a lot of rules.
That’s because I trust you to make your own way. Life is yours for the MAKING, as is this program, and the path you create from here forward will be all-the-more exciting & nourishing because you chose it.
The Wild Abundant Life Re: Fresh is composed of five primary elements:
• Weekly recipes & guidelines
• Daily Life Challenges
• Daily Breath Exercises
• Daily Meditations
• Daily Yoga Poses
• Journal Prompts
And as I said, there are no rules here.
So here’s what you need to know first:
• nothing is off limits
• you will learn to make new choices independently
• you will get educational information, but what you eat & do is up to you
• you will focus on what you CAN have vs. what you CAN'T
And, I mean it when I say that NOTHING is off limits on The Wild Abundant Life Re: Fresh Program
NOTHING.
If you do happen to indulge in something not contained in these pages (a beer or glass of wine, a piece of cheese, French toast, etc) you have not failed the program and you have NOT failed as a human being. Not at all.
As Sadie Nardini said in this book’s foreword, if you want the burger, EAT the burger. Don’t make your choices good or bad. There are no wrong choices, just as there are no right choices. Instead, every choice is new opportunity for learning. Stay in tune with how you feel with every choice you make. I highly recommend journaling as a tool to help you keep track of your experiments.
Adding In
Your primary objective during this program will be adding in more fruits and vegetables every day. Make it a challenge to try something you’ve never had. Keep track of what you liked, what you didn’t, and what you might, just maybe, grow to love. Monitor how your choices affect your vitality, emotional and mental states.
Shift your focus from “Don’t” to “DO!”, “No!” to “YES!”, and “have to” to “I GET to.”
You might find, like I did, that the produce aisle of the grocery store quickly becomes your playground. You’ll startle passers-by when you exclaim, “OMG! They have THREE different varieties of Kale!”
I have been stopped by curious shoppers many times because my shopping cart was brimming with produce and produce alone – “What are you doing with all that FRUIT?!” It’s fun to share the details of your cleanse adventure, and even to inspire total strangers to try something new.
Because you will inspire others, guaranteed. You’re probably even doing it right now!
I Won’t Tell You What To Do
I believe in educated choices versus hard and fast rules.
I am not your cleanse consultant. I am the coach who will give you techniques and ideas to support you in getting where you want to go.
While I’ll give you guidelines & tons of information, I will NOT give you absolutes or rules - just tools to help you make your own decisions. I believe that you will know what’s best.
This can be really hard to navigate if you are a “just tell me what to do!” kind of person, but ever so powerful!
I saw this first-hand when I did our first test-run of the program with 150 online participants. They really wanted (ok, they were begging) me and my team to give them the absolute lowdown on what they could and couldn’t do. To their absolute horror, we refused.
And then, after the first week, something changed. They started to get the hang of it all, and instead of asking, “can I do this?” or “is it cheating if I have this or substitute this?”, we saw a huge & powerful shift.
Their conversations became less about right & wrong and more and more about the discoveries they were making, and the personal victories won day by day. They began creating new recipes and guidelines for themselves based on what worked or didn’t work for them the day before.
And just in case you’re wondering, this NO RULES approach created amazing results for our program participants, from reduced pain and inflammation to significant and permanent weight loss (and everything in between)!
Only you will know what’s right for you, truly.
The information I share with you might help you make decisions about what you want to eat and how you want to operate in the world, but you will choose, reflect and choose again.
Having a short memory will serve you better than replaying something you wish you hadn’t done. Stay in forward motion.
Do you feel better or worse after the encounter with said item? Give no further meaning to your food choices than this – you are in your laboratory and this is a grand experiment.
