At just the right moment at just the right time...Wanda waited. She waited and waited and waited. "Oh my!" she cried. "Oh my, oh my, oh my!" Wanda jumped up from her rocker with such force that she knocked over the table, causing her last piece of crabapple pie and her last mug of sour lemon tea to crash to the floor. The noise scared Calico Cat, causing her to jump off the porch rail. This, in turn, caused such a wind current all the Dust Dancers jumped up all at once and banged into each other. 'This," cried Wanda, "is too much!" "This time he has gone to far."

In the little town of Rainbow’s End, not really very far from here, Wanda Witch just knew that the missing Wishing Star had something to do with the high jinks of Mad Marvin McMischief. After all, a little mischief and merriment done over the celebration of the Mellow Moon was expected—even Grizelda Goodfairy would agree. Wanda didn’t really think too much about the missing four leaf clovers, the few sparkles missing from the Emerald Sea, or the few rubies missing from the red part of the rainbow. Even the silver missing from the cloud’s silver linings hadn’t bothered her much.
But the Wishing Star? That was just too much.

Combining her Irish heritage with an irrepressible belief in the “magic” and wonder of childhood, Ellen Loegering weaves poetry and prose into colorful, magical stories for people of all ages. Building on her studies in early childhood development and children with special needs, Ellen successfully incorporates learning and wisdom into her work for children.
Born and raised in San Francisco, Ellen now resides in the Cocoa Beach area of Florida with her husband, Mark. Ellen and Mark have four children and two grandchildren.
