I should have known the signs. I should have listened to the white noise. I should have looked more closely, at those perfectly sharpened teeth; and hateful eyes filled with venom. I should have been able to look into that gaze, and follow it down to the depths of hell, that is your soul.

About the Book
Poems for Jo is first and foremost a love letter to Daisy’s maternal grandmother. It encapsulates trauma and healing from some of the harshest storms. The collection seeks to walk side by side with those who are struggling and need a hand to hold; someone to get on the ground and sit with; to cry with and laugh along the way. Poems for Jo is about opening up to raw emotions and not hiding or putting on a mask to make oneself more palatable.
About the Author
Daisy Cwiklinski resides in Northern California with her own version of “the white picket fence.” This is her first book, with many more in the works. She has won best script and honorable mention for the poem, “The Girl Who Cried Wolf.” She is also currently working on a creative Instagram project called #gofollowhallow @hallow.linsky
