JOURNEY TO THE RISE

They say that "to be forewarned is to be forearmed." Perhaps that is why new mothers are so often taken off guard - so often unaware of the real adjustments and changes that accompany motherhood. When veteran moms are dispensing advice and sharing their experiences, they seldom give "the dirt" about this life change. Is it that many forget this initial difficulty as their children grow older and they become more familiar with the requirements of the parenting role? Or is it that they choose to omit this aspect for fear of dissuading new mothers? Perhaps the fear of appearing "out of control" or less than "Super Mom" is the culprit responsible for this conspiracy of secrecy. In this age of universal spiritual seeking, it behooves us as mothers to foster both within ourselves as well as within our offspring, that intention towards higher consciousness. We must strive to be as aware and present as possible as we fulfill this Sacred Trust. In the case of a mother and child, it often seems as though we are the same spoke on the same wheel. If planning to enter motherhood, some personal work might be in order.
