In the first chapter, we went through the possible spiritual battles that could impact your life and the lives of your loved ones. So far, in the second half of this book we have made recommendations for strengthening your inner light, increasing your spiritual strength as it were. This is done to prepare you as much as possible for the most arduous tasks we have to face in life. We cannot effectively help ourselves or others, without being strong, both spiritually and physically. The spiritual strength that we speak of is both acquired through works of goodness and through spiritual knowledge or enlightenment – knowing your own limitations and the laws of the spiritual world. This is imperative to make sure that your efforts are effective, while not making matters worse or exposing yourself to the evil spiritual world. An example of this type of mishap was recounted in Chapter 1, from a patient of Dr. Fiore who inadvertently invited a foreign spirit to share her life. As we describe in the chapter on raising children, we cannot live another’s life for them – no matter how loving the intension, it is destructive for all parties. There are many spirits around us. Some are connected to the place that we live, while others are connected to people from this lifetime or from past lifetimes. Some are benign observers as described at the beginning of the chapter. Here is a specific example of how this might appear in your life or a loved one. A friend of mine has suffered from schizophrenia his whole life. It took him some time to realize that the voices were not “in his head” and that the medications prescribed for him were not effective to drown out the voices. Through his study, and he realizes the voices he is hearing are from evil and/or lost spirits.

About the Book
In the first three books of the Torn Between Two Worlds series, we established a framework for human dualism. In the fourth book, we moved from a philosophical discussion to a hands-on, self-help presentation, providing helpful answers to everyday issues.
In the first half of the book, we define the possible spiritual illnesses that can affect you and your loved ones. These are the underlying causes that are being either unrecognized or misdiagnosed by the medical community. The second half of the book provides many ways to increase your spiritual strength and increase your resistance to the negativity that you are subjected to.
Every human being can aspire to their full potential, and therefore, all the suggestions from this book can be used to move closer to this goal, regardless of the current state of spiritual health you find yourself in. In this book, we discover the various tools available to overcome the spiritual afflictions that we or our loved ones suffer from. At the end of this book, you should not only have tools to assist you, but also have a guide on how they can be implemented in your life.
About the Author
Shawn Murphy received his bachelor of science degree in aerospace engineering from the University of Minnesota in 1982 while working part-time as a machinist for Ramar Engineering. While working full-time as an engineer for General Dynamics, Ft. Worth division, Mr. Murphy completed his Master in Engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1985 and his Master in Business Administration from Texas Christian University 1989. At age 30, he moved to Liechtenstein to run the investment team for PRP Performa Ag and started to study German. He received his CFA charter in 1994 and then started studying philosophy in German. After moving the investment team to Bermuda in 2000, he started publishing his philosophic works in the Bermuda Sun, following the attack on 9/11/01. He published a series of six articles speaking out against the rhetoric that had erupted. The final article in this series was entitled: “We all have the same spiritual ancestry”. Following the stroke of his twenty-year-old daughter, Shawn was inspired to write the trilogy Torn Between Two Worlds. Since then, Mr. Murphy has been actively blogging on Quora where he has been able to assist many on the spiritual path.
