About the Author
Michele Muller grew up in Rahway,N.J. She created a lot of fun memories with her four siblings and best friends during her childhood. Michele knew from the early age of 6 that she wanted to become a teacher. She even gave her friends spelling tests whenever they visited her home. Michele became a camp counselor when she was 15. She taught preschoolers when she worked at a local preschool center. Michele went on to achieve her Associates degree in Early Childhood Ed. at Union County College. She also obtained her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Ed. from Kean University. Michele taught children for 20 years and she was a public speaking coach for many students. Her mother passed away from Ovarian cancer so Michele assisted with raising funds for cancer patients. As a former educator, Michele realized that there wasn’t enough literature dealing with the topic of grief for children. Michele decided to write “Best Friends” so children could find peace and comfort when they need to deal with the loss of a loved one in their life. Michele’s dear uncle, Christopher Smith, graciously agreed to draw the illustrations for “Best Friends”. Michele recently became an entrepreneur sculpting angels: “Heavenly Designs by Michele” (m.malone1210@comcast.net). She resides in Pennsylvania with her husband Gus, and their two dogs, Lilly and Ginger.
