1. Poetic Foreword ***On my way to the stars***I have fought many wars But I held head up high ‘til I was touching the sky. How did I do it? You may as well ask Well, it was not always easy To master my tasks. I wasn’t always moral - I wasn’t always true But deep inside the core of me - my inner light could always See A glimpse Of the light that shone strong and bright - that light would guide me Where Not many of my friends would dare. I went out on a limb - believing in love And when things toughened up I sought help from above. Keep going, keep loving - when troubles prevail That was my goal I did not want to fail. ***On my way to the stars ***I fought many wars I did not win them all But I’m still walking tall. ***On my way to the stars***I held head up high Now I’m out of the wars In a limitless sky. Peace & Love 2. Author’s Wish This is my Story – but I am not the Story I want World Peace! These four words were for many years the concluding and possibly winning words at Miss World Pageants. Like the sweet song of a blackbird, or a Mantra for success, those magic words have been tweeted out into the TV ether and into living rooms all over the world by many Miss World contestants. As a young girl or woman, I carefully listened to those words with sharpened senses. What will the winner do to achieve this goal? Did anybody ever mention how she will go about it? Nevertheless, I also want World Peace, regardless of whether it has been said before or not, regardless of merely repeating an old, worn out phrase that doesn’t seem to be of any consequence to anyone. Fact is, or putting it more softly, my observation is that we seem at this moment in time further than ever away from achieving worldwide peace. Perhaps there will always be warmongers, and there will always be peacemakers. Just now, I guess the balance has tipped to the warmongers. Therefore, my wish and intention is to make a contribution to Peace, the inner and the outer! What can I do? How can I contribute to a positive outcome? Well, I feel a little bit like an ant trying to climb Mount Everest, but every action starts with the first step. Peace starts with myself! This is my very first step to get my peace mission on the way: I will tell you my story and hope that a spark of inspiration and healing will fly out into the world and make a difference. Is my story true? Not true? Pure imagination? Wishful thinking? Does it really matter, if the story inspires you and the message is intended to be one of love, peace and harmony for this world? Luckily, every word is true! Whatever the contents of this book, this is a genuine account of my experience as a German in a spiritual crisis. It is about my healing journey, or journey to ‘whole-ness’, my encounter with an Indian Holy Man and about another, most unusual and unexpected encounter which dramatically changed my life.

A guilt-complex-burdened German woman in her late twenties who is a divorced, heartbroken, hardworking single parent sets out on a spiritual journey to find herself and some of the answers to life’s challenging questions, including the possibility of reincarnation. Heading for burnout, the author Louise Illig-Mooncie signs up to see a Holy Man in India. Her Indian diary of first impressions and her slow transformation are a delight to read. She has two life-changing experiences in the space of a few months: an encounter with a ghost, a young Jewish man, whom she believes to have died in the Holocaust. “As if that experience wasn’t enough to turn my life around,” Louise says. “The heavens challenged me with a near-death experience.” Nothing can stay the same after such powerful events. In Encounter Between Two Worlds, Louise offers a genuine account of her experience as someone in a personal and spiritual crisis and, particularly, as a young German woman who struggles with her country’s troubled past. About the Author
Louise Illig-Mooncie came to writing through a series of life-changing experiences, which she believes to have a deeper meaning. She worked for most of her life for two European TV companies in London and then became an independent Film Producer/Director, making a number of well-received films, including Chartres Cathedral - A Sacred Geometry, The Miracle of Puttaparthi and Sai Baba - God on Earth? Louise was the first woman to be given permission to make films about the late guru Sai Baba.
