Discover your Ego:
your barriers to wisdom
A passage to wisdom is never a given.
It requires sacrifice, it requires understanding
and it requires trust.
Our whole life often leads to such discoveries
and with all the turns and obstacles we create,
we obstruct this passage, we build walls,
and attempt to withhold our purpose
from our soul’s wisdom.
But as we learn to understand our heart’s purpose
so we let go of what obstructed
and what closed this passage to wisdom.
It is not that you are punished,
it is not that you are stopped from growing,
it is not because of a lack of understanding,
but it’s all about the complexity of being ready.
So, as we grow through life
and as we embark on a new adventure,
so we carry with us that baggage of our past.
Now a passage to wisdom carries one question, and that is:
does my baggage obstruct or does my baggage assist
in finding this passage to wisdom?
For the more we learn, the more exhausted we become
and the more exhausted we become
the more we must learn to turn inward
and focus on our soul’s wisdom.
For the busier we are, the quieter we need to be.
For when the storms are raging,
the clearer we need to see.
So turn inward
and find that comfort
and the quiet faith of knowing.
“Spiritual growth requires an effective ego”
To grow spiritually means that our awareness is elevated to a level that understands our purpose. Often we live for this awareness, forgetting that our egotistical effectiveness is as much a component of our connectedness, and it is this well-balanced synergy that stimulates our growth. We can’t grow spiritually if our ego sabotages, does not accept responsibility, or withdraws from the world and the functions required. Spiritual growth needs freedom to express and to nurture and that must be created through the effective ego. An effective ego makes way for the soul to grow. It creates space, it accepts responsibility, and it fights for the spiritual purpose of the soul.
"What your ego tells you about life says more about your ego than about your life"
When we discover that the voice in our head is not us, but that we are the one that hears it, we start to find true growth. When we distinguish between the ego's grandeur creating the fears and keeping us prisoner through our programming and a lack of wisdom, we can discover that there is the soul: the voice that we must listen to that is different, that knows the way, and that we must follow with trust. Wisdom comes from our soul and it will tell us everything about our life, for we must trust, and allow ourselves the silence to hear what we should without the ego's interruptions. Build the strong connection for there we find the difference that brings us meaning.
"Our ego's biggest strength is the burden of our past"
Time brings a heaviness, a weight, to our shoulders. Our ego entraps our life with the weight of time, as it reminds us constantly of the burden we carry from our past. Because of that it traps us with fear and holds us in anxiety. We can only escape, we can lighten the load, through understanding and trust. For what the future holds evolves through discovery. And when our soul replaces the burdens that we carry with the trust that what tomorrow brings was decided through our choices today. Destiny is part and parcel of time. For it reveals the wisdom we have gained. And reflects a shedding of a wrong burden we had to carry.
"We create the emptiness we feel. We create the void that we search to fill"
To be grateful comes from a positive mind. For that reflects our soul's position in our life. Our ego drives us to fill the emptiness with all the problems, with everything that brings fear. And so, the emptiness grows. When we go in search of perfection, perfection as the ego knows, we will find the obstacles, we will encounter the barriers, and our emptiness will grow. When we look at the beauty of a rose, every petal isn't perfect, yet it shows its beauty through that imperfection. Our life is about fulfilling a purpose. And through all the joys and troubles, we will grow, in finding the meaning to fulfil our reason for being. Our emptiness is not through a lack of ambition, or egotistical endeavor. Our emptiness grows through a lack of understanding, and always searching for what is better, what is perfect, and ignoring what must be done to the present. We must complete before we can move on.
"Don't let your ego's thirst drain your soul of its power"
Our ego will forever search, will forever create the barriers, the fear, and the anxiety that drives us to thirst for more. Of worldly opinion, possessions full of emptiness, and the loneliness of importance. Don't let the ego encircle our life through competitive games, but rather allow our soul to create the riches that fill our life. The wisdom of our heart needs no importance. For it exists to show us the beauty of our way. Let us not enclose our soul's purpose through chasing what our ego makes us fear.
