The chakras connect you to your true nature—body, mind, and soul. When you look at the human being as mere flesh and organs, your attention gets placed on only one aspect of who you are. In the chakra system, your spiritual lessons are built into your biological design with the divine intelligence running through you, providing the energy that animates you, giving the gift of life and allowing for your human experience. Healing from an illness or proactively exploring preventive measures for your health requires an investigation into all aspects of who you are. Becoming mindful of both your energetic and physical beings will bring you into a state of wholeness.
Chakra Imbalance
We all have our ways of dealing with life’s challenges. Some run for the hills, others simply ignore the elephant in the room, and still others go full force at the situation with varying degrees of obsession. But whatever your coping strategies are, they become conditioned patterns of behavior that impact energy flow to your chakras, blocking a chakra at times or throwing it off balance. Depending on what emotional state you are in, you can weaken your ability to express or receive the life lesson that is presenting itself through a particular chakra. Or worse, the result of an imbalanced chakra can show up as a physical illness, a chronic emotional struggle, or stagnant and often debilitating belief systems.
There are two emotional states you can be in to profoundly affect the balance of your chakras. These are love and fear. Love is a space of growth, while fear is a state of protection. You are creating your life and living in love and growth, or you are surviving your life and living in fear and protection.
When you live in a space of love, you are open to the world. Life is viewed as filled with opportunities, not obstacles. You are grounded yet flexible in nature. You are able to step out of your box of thinking, be more spontaneous, and not always need to be in control. In this state of love, you are able to have an exchange with the Universe, and when you stop attempting to micromanage your experiences, that’s when life happens.
If you live in a state of fear, you are in a protective mode. This happens in acute circumstances, a natural part of our defenses; however, when you stay in this state for long periods of time, it restricts your growth, halting self-healing processes by blocking the universal energy from flowing freely through the chakras.
Your body is a self-healing entity in which every single cell constantly regenerates itself. This means that within seven to ten years, you are physically an entirely new person. Think about that for a moment. You are designed to continuously grow, regenerate, and evolve, and when you embrace your true nature, you have found the key to a life of good health and longevity—the life you were meant to live.
The Chakras and Your Food Choices
When you understand chakras as the link between universal consciousness and physical manifestation, the food you put in your body becomes nourishment for your body, mind, and soul. For example, at the level of the solar plexus chakra, there is an interdependent relationship between carbohydrate foods, digestion, and self-esteem. All three are operating at the same level of consciousness that is focused at the solar plexus chakra.
In addition, your behaviors surrounding your food choices are linked to a particular chakra’s underlying universal meaning. From cravings for sweets, an aversion to fish, or why you like to eat until you feel full to struggles with balancing hormones—all of these are reflections of who you are and the current circumstances of your life, along with the universal life lesson that is asking for your attention.
With each conscious connection you make, you reveal another dimension of who you are. With every step you take toward understanding yourself, you bring the healing process into action. Food is the initiator of this process, assisting in shifting the energy flow to the chakras and impacting the current health status of your mind-body. As physical symptoms settle, and your body begins to restore itself, you have an opportunity to reflect on the underlying consciousness, those thought patterns at the origin of the physical manifestations you are experiencing.
The choice is before you: Do you want to remove physical ailments on the surface level with a high probability of their return, going about your life as you know it? Or do you want to dig a little deeper to get to the hidden messages, to grasp how your life is asking for your attention, and perhaps make changes that will bring you closer to remembering your wholeness?
