About the Book
How to teach core values needed to get along in the world? How to introduce concepts of spirituality in nature? The Adventures of Woodsboy targets both of these in a fun read. As the seasons change in the Florida woodlands, Woodsboy encounters life lessons living with his adopted eagle family and playing with his animal friends. As he grows and learns to get out of the nest, he begins to understand the importance of sharing, setting boundaries, and dealing with feelings. He learns about being kind to one another and how to cope with being bullied. He also becomes aware of the Great Spirit, who provides for a lot of fun.
About the Author
Cindy LCSW (licensed clinical social worker) wrote this book while sitting on the porch of her woods house, located in the middle of the Charles H Bronson State forest in Christmas, Fl. Looking out at a tall pine tree with a large nest, she envisioned Father Eagle picking up a lost Woodsboy and taking him to live with his three new hatchlings. Cindy and her husband Eric, a psychologist, spend most of their weekends at the woods house recouping from their busy lives in Orlando, Fl. They walk in the woods often and know all of the animals, birds, reptiles and insects that help Woodsboy grow up. Ali-gator really does live in their pond. Eric contributed his knowledge of Human Core Issues making Woodsboy both entertaining and educational. The Great Spirit has a say throughout the chapters introducing spirituality. Cindy envisions Woodsboy as a helping book for parents and children to learn to love and care for others.
