My world has turned into softness, like I am aloft a white fluffy cloud in the skies of heaven. All my thoughts have gone. There is nothing but a feeling of tranquillity. The clouds then begin to turn grey, growing forever darker until they are almost black. There is only enough light to see the outline of the clouds now. Then I hear the sound of thunder. I find it strange because thunder always follows lightning, and I haven’t seen any sparks of light dancing through the sky. My world becomes still, everything freezes into place except the rolling waves of thunder. The noise echoes, bouncing back at me. Then I see it. The lightning flashes, and with it comes memories. The memories of my last awaken state. The images all shine brightly inside my head, lighting up my mind’s eye. They flow like a film reel in reverse. The park bench moving away from my face, a mysterious hooded man, three bikie men, running, Tara, Sam, together, my life, pain.
