Many people are living lives of quiet, economic desperation especially Christians who have been told by their pastors that the answer to their financial problems is simply to tithe one’s income (10% of gross income.) The average Christian does not know and is not told by their pastor, that there were three different tithes in the Old Testament - Numbers 18:21. This was support for the priestly Levi, a tithe which was given because they had no land as an inheritance. The other eleven tribes were to support them. Deuteronomy 14:22-26. This was actually a festival tithe so when the Israelites went to Jerusalem they had money, food and wine put away to have a grand celebration. The third tithe Malachi 3:10, was a tithe collected into storehouses (not churches) to feed the poor. Church members will state that salvation is by grace, Ephesians 2:8-9 and healing is by grace Matthew 8:17 and 1 Peter 2:24 but strangely prosperity is by a law Malachi 3:11. Paul the apostle never mentioned that the Christian under the New Covenant had to tithe. Pastors will refer their congregations to Matthew 23:23. However Jesus was speaking to the religious Pharisees who were still living under the law of Moses John 1:17 “For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.” This clearly shows the role of Jesus. The sad and confusing situation for the New Covenant Christians is that pastors are trying to get their members to live under an Old Covenant system of financial blessings which has been superseded by a New and better Covenant, Holy Spirit led in giving offerings, 2 Corinthians 8:12 and 2 Corinthians 9:6. The sacred cows which have been religiously taught are smashed and the reader will enjoy such a freedom when the weight from the compulsory tithe is lifted off. This book addresses the whole man’s spirit, soul (mind, will and emotions) and physical body. This holistic approach will greatly increase the quality of your life and give you complete assurance knowing where you are going when you die. It smashes many sacred cows that have held religious people in bondage.

Stewart Robertson was an investment consultant for Westpac and retired at sixty four. He has profited by buying and selling gold and has an investment property in Brisbane, Queensland. At age sixty-seven, Robertson has been married forty-one years, runs a home church, and enjoys excellent health without any medications. He lives in Perth, Western Australia.
