Persevere If the day were not darkest before the dawn Would there be a reason to rejoice at morn? If the night were not black and foreboding A trial to the weak with confidence eroding Could we tell the strong from all the rest If life was not one unending test? So while some lay helpless caged by fear Is not the gift of life too precious and dear That we should live paralyzed by doubt And the heart be denied love and perish without This shall be the fate of those who never take a stand Die slowly, blindly by their own hand But in your heart a passion will not be denied For a far greater love burns deep inside A love born of generations lives in your soul And anything less cannot make you whole You may slip, you may falter, weary from the test But in the end there is only one choice in this quest To fall but always then to rise - there is no other way For darkness gives rest to the strong who fight every day So know that strength is not freedom from doubt or fear But that undying passion that lets your heart persevere

About the Book
What does it mean to be a warrior? It is to examine the world around you and within you, to embrace love, to acknowledge and live your truth. These are the words of one man ,eloquent, inquisitive and provocative, who stood where he believed and believed where he stood. This is his quest for life, love and truth. These are the words of a warrior.
About the Author
Dan Benjamin was a simple man with an old soul, strong heart, creative hands and a beautiful brilliant mind.
It was his inquisitive mind that drew him to his passion for history, reading old books, preserving the past and honoring those that came before him. He spent many hours hiking. He was always inspired and in awe of the beauty in the trees and all of natures treasures. To walk in the woods any time of year was all he needed to revive his soul, renew his faith and bring him peace.
He was always willing to take up the sword and fight , never backing down from what he believed was right and true.
He was a man who stood where he believed and believed where he stood even if it meant standing alone.
Dan left this earth on January 26th 2015 at the age of 44.
These are his words he wanted to share with the world , this is his truth.
