Have you ever heard someone say, “There is nothing I can do about it,” or, “It’s out of my control?” These are excuses. The truth is that there is so much each of us can do in our personal lives to impact the world in positive ways. Nourishing our spirit with the right food ensures that we can speak love into the world through our words and actions. Speaking love into the world, in turn, ensures that we won’t make just some tiny or temporary dent while we’re here but rather an impact of eternal significance. In fact, when we choose to ground ourselves in the power and conviction of the word of God—when we remember that we are His creations, designed to do remarkable things in the world—we have access to a source of internal power that is greater and infinitely more permanent than the world itself.
What if letting your individual light shine could empower humanity? What if you could become a co-creator with the universe and unleash unfettered development towards your highest self? What if that development could all flow from the journey you consciously chose to pursue? What if, in choosing to step outside of our comfort zone, we could usher in the challenges that would shatter the barriers to greater freedom, fulfillment, and joy?
Breaking down the walls in our minds is the very essence of freeing ourselves. But to get there we first have to recognize the powerful difference between our conscious and unconscious minds. Most of us have a misconception that consciousness just happens when our bodies are alert and functioning in our day-to-day lives. In fact, even in our waking lives, most people are driven almost entirely by what is already stored in our subconscious mind. However, the consciousness addressed in Food Of The Spirit is a realm of all possibility, connection to our source energy, and to the divine Creator which dwells within each of us. When we are awake in this real sense, we are powerful agents for change in our own lives, in the lives of those around us, and in the world. Each one of us possesses an energy that others can sense; it has a cumulative effect on the Earth, whether positive or negative. Because were designed to be in relationship, by making changes within ourselves, we can quickly change the world.
No matter what circumstances you or I might be facing, currently or in the future, key principles can be applied to ensure our ability not only to embrace but also benefit from whatever our situation may bring. Three brief sentences summarize those principles: 1) Surrendering fear, gives more space to love; 2) Receiving forgiveness is woven together with our ability to offer forgiveness to others; and 3) Recognizing that God has perfectly designed us to be His light to the world enables Him to work in and through us more easily and miraculously.
Trust God to change one heart, and it can change everything. Will you let Him start with yours?
