Dreams, Rainbows and Butterflies

Carole’s piano reminds me in so many unique ways of Carole. Her piano is a creation of timeless beauty. It is rare, upright and is finely tuned. It is simply black and white. Its exterior is plain and yet every corner, every curve and straight edge forms a structure that is elegant, solid, reliable, fit for purpose and it never let her down when she tickled it. On the inside, it is an instrument of perfection and each moving part delicately tuned and balanced with precision by a master craftsman, with care and with so much love. Every moving part has a job, a place, a dependency and inter-dependency. Her piano was the core of Carole’s Universe, and just like the Universe when trusted and embraced unconditionally, it revealed its magic at the hand of someone deserving, humble, skilled in sensitivity, someone with a pure heart and a soul that longs to sing songs of love. The piano revealed Carole’s soul as every note she commanded from her mechanical companion vibrated through her entire body, awakened all of her senses and emitted music fit for the ears of Angels. Carole was my Universe. She openly revealed its vibrations and secrets to me throughout our life together. She was my music and my song, lifelong. Carole’s soul flies throughout my world every day with each memory of her piano time. My sense of memory and emotion are now awakened through the flutter of our children whose hearts command Mummy’s piano to fly and to sing with the same magical and enchanted resonance. Their mastery invites my soul to sing and my heart to stream with every note of memory and presence.
