Colors of Empowerment, keep me proud, secure, and independent

The voices inside speaks to me They voices come from within and speaks to me They are telling the story from which I come A little girl, with big brown eyes and caramel skin Raised on a farm in Chase City, Virginia Humble beginning with a passion to be heard Being the middle child, almost never heard The first born spoiled to death The last born of seven, loved by all The middle child searching to find her place Not feeling the love I raise my voice through my poems While they continue to speak to me I will let them be heard For I am struggling to come out Never to be lost, silent or in the shadow of others I will put me passion first and always do my best For the middle child is who i am, free to me Virginia Pulliam I live in Richmond, Virginia I live my life each day trying to more positive than the day before. I am a mother, grandmother and friend. I am a woman trying to tap into her creative nature, by taking classes and bringing positivity in to my life. I meditate and find quiet time for myself.
