Many people assume that it is the will of a Higher Power that they were born in poverty when just the opposite is true. If most parents want prosperity for all their children, isn't it reasonable that God wants the same thing for all God's children? The Will of a Divine Creator for all life can only be something glorious, beautiful, and prosperous since poverty demoralizes. You were created to prosper. In fact, each person is created with an inner power to assist them with prosperity. However, approximately 95% of the world's population never discovers this inner power. We listen to people who tell us not to expect too much out of life and we won't be disappointed, people who tell us the best we can expect is to go to work every day, pay our bills, and raise our children to do the same. Some of you have seen the bumper sticker, "I owe, I owe, so off to work I go." Too often, life is viewed as depressing or devastating. There is the feeling that we must accept what is. The new expression of our 21st century is "It is what it is."
It's no wonder the suicide rate continues to increase. Everywhere dreams are shattered. Some people have learned to enjoy spreading "gloom and doom." They feel if they have to suffer, everyone else should suffer along with them. Misery loves company. These people are unaware of what they are doing. Have you ever tried to tell someone your dreams? Some people will tell you all the reasons why you can't accomplish your dreams. They are more than happy to help you fail. they feel they don't deserve to be prosperous and neither do you. Your prosperity will only remind them of their failure. This is why it is essential for you to "direct" your life story and "star" in it. When you tell others of your dreams, some will confront you with reverse autosuggestion. They will tell you all the reasons why you can't accomplish your dreams.
I once overheard a sixteen-year-old musical performer tell a person he was going to perform before large audiences someday. The person responded, "Son, you are dreaming! Hardly anyone succeeds in music these days." Hearing what this young man was told, I pulled him aside and said, "Don't believe what you were just told. Follow your dream. Don't allow anyone to stand in your way. You will succeed." Feeling good about ourselves is necessary to develop a prosperity consciousness. We must be relaxed, calm, and self-assured as we walk through life. By the way, the young man I just mentioned is now in his thirties. He has performed before great crowds of people. His dream came true. He not only accomplished his teenage dream, he has achieved one big dream after another. He is prosperous because his mind is filled with prosperity-thinking.
Be careful who you share your dreams with. Find friends who will encourage you to be prosperous. Friends who are negative about your dreams should be "friends at a distance." As you encounter negative people, you must communicate with them. Don't refuse to talk to them, but refuse to accept their false philosophy of life. You have a valuable contribution to make.
Prosperity is available to all who desire it. It's available to anyone who has the courage to follow their dream. You can do whatever you want to do. Prosperous people know that the game of prosperity, like the game of golf, is won or lost in your head. The simple desire to do something is proof that you have the power within to do it. As you achieve your dreams, others will stop telling you that you can't be prosperous because inevitably they will see you achieve what they said you couldn't achieve. As you go through life, hold on to your dreams and help others around you hold on to their dreams. Don't oppose or harm anyone. As you go through life, you'll desire to be no one's enemy and everyone's friend. Set goals to move from poverty to prosperity, from poverty to power, from dependency to self-reliance. You must realize that no one is destined to live in a shack, dress in rags, or go hungry. Reject and let go of all the darkness and ignorance of the world and know that you possess the equipment, power and knowledge you need to become prosperous. Realize that prosperity means much more than money. Real prosperity includes health, prestige, social status, healthy relationships, and peace of mind. It means you experience the wonderful feeling of placing your head on your pillow at night knowing you are at peace with the world and all is well in your life.
