If you believe that the Scriptures are the given by the inspiration of God and they only constitute the divine rule for Christian faith and practice then you will read the referenced Scripture again in context for yourself just to be sure that I have not misquoted or quoted out of context with intent to lead you astray. I realise that this Article of Thought may cause some concern amongst many who read it because I am also aware that, in presenting what the Scriptures do say about the subject, some will find that it is uncomfortable to read this and still maintain a firm hold on the dogma from their own church affiliation. Some will simply ignore my writings and others will attempt to challenge them by comparing them with different and even spurious translations but to these I simply suggest that each reference I have provided has been carefully compared with the most acceptable versions in the past century. I am confident that they all agree with the exegetic intent offered. For myself I want to be with My Lord Yeshua Messiah/Jesus Christ Who died for me and loved me and prepared a place for me and called me to Himself and sealed me with The Holy Spirit so that I can be where He is…. He is the Way, The Truth and The Life and that is what I want when my time here is ended. The Word tells me that those who have believed in Messiah/Christ are ‘seated in the heavenlies’, now!! (Ephesians 2: 4 – 9) Spiritually we can be there while we wait for the process to happen. That’s got to be good news! Of course, those who are not written in the Lamb’s Book of Life have no name like the poor rich man in Lazarus’ story and are, even now, ‘the living dead’ but what a dreadful eternity they have before them! So, if that is you may I suggest that you ask Yeshua/Jesus about it right now? The Holy Spirit is right there with you where you are and He is waiting to hear from you because G-D loves you. Article #4 Conclusion.

As Christians, for all sorts of reasons, we believe and do things for traditional, liturgical, and sacramental reasons. But dare we ask those introspective questions about subjects we’re supposed to accept without question? In WOT4 and Y?, author Ronald Birksmith offers a series of articles designed to answer some of the questions he has had as a Christian. He explores the scriptural basis of these questions and how it all began. Birksmith discusses how, through the years, the church has embellished much of the original ordinances and teachings, making it difficult to ascertain why we should blindly believe and act as we were taught. WOT4 and Y? looks simply at the Bible and presents an uncomplicated explanation of what precipitated the original events and principles. It encourages Christians to continue being pilgrims, but more informed pilgrims.
About the Author
Ronald Birksmith and his late wife, Beverley, served together in ministry for many years. He’s also held a number of senior management positions in management analysis, leadership psychology, and ergonomics. He is currently enjoying time with academic theological research in retirement and attends St. Thomas Anglican Church, Cranebrook, NSW. Birksmith has three grown children with families of their own.
