Luminous White, Fragrance in the Night
My love for Moon Gardens began on a backroad ride with my dogs. I was in awe of a simple square white farmhouse, its backdoor cement steps leading to a set of old wicker chairs positioned at the base of a five-foot retaining wall.
The ground at the top of the retaining wall, bordered with tall white rods of phlox, was planted with white Petunia. Cascading like a frothing waterfall towards the ground, the wave of white Petunia met a thick fluffy carpet of white Impatiens and Alyssum, which carried the momentum forward to encircle two nearby maple trees and the circle of cement where the chairs resided.
The finished look was stunning and Angelic. I loved seeing the couple sitting in clouds of white flowers, drinking their evening coffee. The fragrance must-have been wonderful. By the end of summer, I was a frequent sight as they waved at me as I passed by.
