Caleb stood in front of the dove and for a while, neither of them spoke. Everything the dove had said was somehow finding its way from Caleb’s mind, down to his heart. A miracle was taking place. Caleb realized what the dove was teaching him. Then Caleb spoke to the patient creature. “I had not noticed any of these things that you have mentioned,” Caleb admitted. “I rushed to this tree, not having seen anything around me. I was afraid.” “Your fear blinded you,” replied the dove. “When one walks in fear, the path is always cloudy.” “I just wanted to get to the top of the mountain and be able to say that I did it, then rush back down. I thought I was being brave coming up here even though I was petrified,” confessed Caleb. “The journey is not about just being at the top, Caleb. In fact, it revolves far more around everything you experience and learn on your way there. And…true bravery is not to travel with fear, but to travel beyond fear to what is real.” “What is real?” Caleb inquired eagerly. “Love,” answered the dove. “But what do I do when everything inside me shakes and trembles?” Caleb needed this answer. “Be silent and still,” mentored the dove. “Look into your heart. The calm knowing you need resides there. The wisdom and guidance you seek dwells there. All that makes you feel safe comes from your willingness to connect with what is real.” “Love is what is real?” Caleb reiterated. “What is that love exactly?” “Love is a gift, given to you and to all… A love that is far more powerful than your fears. Go forward with what you now know.” With that, the dove spread its glorious wings and took flight. Caleb watched it majestically soar towards the top of the mountain. The sunlight seemed to reflect gold and white shimmering lights from its marvelous wings as it flew.

About the Book
Caleb forgoes many adventures due to his fear of the unknown. The epic odyssey in Caleb’s Mountain details the day the urging of Caleb’s heart pushes to overcome the steel cage his fears have put around his dreams. He is shown how to handle the obstacles along his path and how to cherish the beautiful world around him. Caleb finds his courage and learns how to travel beyond his fears. His guardian angel appears to help him look into his heart to find the calm knowing that resides there, the wisdom and guidance that dwells there and encourages Caleb to be willing to connect with what is real. With the help of his dearly devoted friend, Caleb transcends his fears and rises above them to a place of great revelation.
About the Author
Carolina is a devoted mother and educator that graduated with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and master’s degree in English literature and composition. She served as a college level English teacher and is certified to teach a specialized ASL program. She has taught a myriad of subjects and sports to students of all ages and abilities for over 20 years. Carolina has volunteered countless hours of service to feed the hungry, support the needs of the impoverished, and assist children around the world to begin and deepen their faith. She is an advocate for child literacy initiatives and, with the help of her family, has worked to donate over 30,000 books to a charity that distributes them for free to children in need. She continues to be in prominent leadership roles within the many ministries she serves, and believes we all share the responsibility of making our world a better place for all sentient beings to live in peace. Writing is a favorite creative passion for Carolina. She hopes her books will facilitate inspiration and transformation for all those who seek it.
