About the Author

G. A. Mohr, Ph.D., earned his doctorate degree at Cambridge University, where his father helped split the atom. He did pioneering work on the finite element method in England, Australia, and New Zealand and wrote about sixty papers for twenty scientific journals and published more than twenty books, including Finite Elements for Solids, Fluids, and Optimization; A Microcomputer Introduction to the Finite Element Method; and Finite Elements & Optimization for Modern Management. He also co-authored five other books with Richard Sinclair and Edwin Fear.
