It’s interesting the decisions we make based on our own experiences. During that same year of the first grade, I remember second-graders bullying my friend and me. Once I reached the second grade, I made a point not to bully those under me because I remembered what it was like. Therefore my philosophy was, ‘Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.’ My friend, on the other hand, had a different philosophy as a second-grader, which was, ‘Do unto others as it was done to you.’ Since it was done to her, she was going to do the same to the next set of first-graders. I don’t know what her life experiences were up to that point but what was quite clear was two different reactions to the same situation based on our life experiences.

About the Author
While writing for fun, I was always told my stories and poems were entertaining as well as inspiring. I even submitted a sample to a literary school, which accepted my work, but that’s where it ended, as other priorities took precedence in my life.
Over the years, I’ve started stories, and family, friends, and coworkers eagerly anticipated what came next, which was—nothing. I hope to change this in an effort to complete my first book. I live in Texas with a wonderful husband who’s recently retired from the U.S. Army. As a U.S. Air Force military brat, I’ve had the opportunity to experience other cultures and meet interesting people from all over the world who have added to my life experiences. I hope my work will continue to inspire and entertain my readers.
