It all begins with one question: What is a soul?

This leads Oscar down an unexpected path with wonderful, sometimes bizarre, encounters. What does Oscar discover on his search? More importantly, how will Oscar ever find what he is looking for?

Oscar is a naturally inquisitive boy, just as most children are. However, once Oscar asks a question, his interest never wavers. His need for an answer only intensifies until he finally discovers the truth. Oscar gathers clues from chance meetings and unlikely sources. Seeking help from an unusual friend adds to the excitement and adventure, while Oscar learns that all he needs he already has within.

Oscar is the first book of a series.

About the Author

Jennifer Hendrix graduated with her bachelor’s degree in social work from Appalachian State University in 2001 and her master’s degree in social work from Denver University in 2003. Jennifer currently works as a social worker and enjoys working with people.  She has most recently discovered another passion through writing a children’s book series with her dearest friend. Jennifer resides in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. You can find Jennifer enjoying the outdoors, reading, and exploring her next adventure.

Laura Schmitt graduated from Appalachian State University with a bachelor's degree in special education in 2001. In 2005, she completed her master's degree in curriculum and supervision from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. After working as a teacher, then as a curriculum coordinator, and finally as a program specialist, she decided to stay home with her family full time. Laura resides in Monroe, North Carolina, with her husband and four children. You're likely to find her there sneaking in a nap or dancing in her kitchen!
