My preview text is: I mentioned at the beginning of this book that if you want to build your dream house, you will need an architect, a plumber, an electrician, a roofer, an expert in permits, a landscaper, and so on. Without the help of these experts, your dream house could end up looking like an outhouse from the 1800s. This same concept also applies to our human spiritual evolution and our life’s purpose. In order to build a world where there is no poverty, no prejudice, no war, no deficit, no suffering, etc. we need the help from everyone utilizing all gifts, talents and personalities. EVERYONE’S life purpose is vital to the creation of a better world and to the spiritual evolution of all humans. We need experts who can teach about forgiveness, we need kind compassionate people to help improve social services, we need healers to help improve our overall health and happiness, just to name a few. We desperately need everyone’s skills and talents to build our dream world. Without the help from all humans and their special expertise, our dream world will not come to fruition any time soon.
Currently, various countries in the world are suffering economically, including the United States. Additionally, there are worldwide environmental issues causing global warming and a general fear that we are headed for disaster in the future. Many humans may even feel as if they are being punished by the Universe for no good reason. The message that I have from the angels is that no one in the world is being punished. The angels say that the environmental issues, the economy, and many other problems are the learning tools for our life lessons. In other words, the only way that we humans are going to be able to learn and grow spiritually is by having life throw some obstacles in our way. If we do not want the environmental issues to continue to cause chain-reaction disasters (i.e., tsunamis, frequent hurricanes, blizzards, floods, etc.) then we need to work together with all humans around the world to brainstorm ways of improving the environment. The environmentalists need to work with the engineers and scientists to come up with greener options for energy production. Then they need to work with economists, accountants, and financial experts to find a solution to make that energy more affordable to businesses and the general public. Politicians can get involved by creating laws to ensure that the general public and large corporations abide by greener environmental laws.
As for the poor economy, the angels say our economic future does not have to be bleak. This is something that can be altered by us humans simply by working together as a team. The angels tell me that the Universe is plentiful and limitless, so there is more than enough abundance for everyone on the planet. There is more than enough food, water, clothing, and shelter, as well as money to pay for all of our earthly needs. The reason we are in this economic slump is only due to our segregation from each other. We are not working together as one, big, human family taking care of each other’s needs. We are working separately, trying desperately to take care of our own needs. The life lesson that we need to learn from our economic stress is not to take on the belief that “Who cares if others are suffering, I have my own bills and issues to deal with so I am going to look out for number one.” That is not the attitude that we need to have in our lives.
As I’m writing this chapter, the angels are showing me an image of a story that I read when I was young called “Stone Soup.” I’m sure that many of you are familiar with this story since it is a popular children’s book. It is about a man travelling through a small town in the middle of winter. The man is cold and hungry and is hoping to get something to eat when he reaches the town. The man goes door to door asking each person in the town if they can spare some food for him. Everyone in town explains to the man that they are poor and have nothing extra to spare. They all shut the door in his face without giving him any food. The man uses his creativity and decides to build a fire and make a big pot of stone soup. He builds a fire with some wood that he finds on the ground. He finds a big pot and puts it over the fire. Then he scoops up some snow from the ground and puts it into the pot. Once the snow melts into water, he finds a large, smooth stone and throws it into the pot. As he does this, all of the people in town are watching him with curiosity from the windows in their houses. The man announces loudly, “Boy, this stone soup would taste even better with some salt and pepper.” Just then, one of the townspeople comes out of his home with salt and pepper and offers to add it to the soup. Next, the man announces “This soup would taste even better with some potatoes thrown in.” Just then, another person from town comes out of her home carrying a few potatoes that she had in her cellar.
The man makes the same announcement that the soup would taste even better with some beef, carrots, and onions in it. Just then, three different townspeople emerge from their homes carrying a little bit of beef, carrots, and onions to toss into the soup. The soup tasted wonderful and was large enough to feed the entire town. Everyone had a feast that evening!
The angels were showing me that story of stone soup to help explain that our main life lesson as humans is to work together, not separately, in order to create a world of abundance and fulfillment for everyone. It is not the responsibility of one human to save the world. That is too great a responsibility for just one human to take on. However, if all humans just fulfill their own life’s purpose and give their natural talents, gifts and abilities to the world, then the power of ALL humans combined would be definitely powerful enough to make great changes to the world.
