You have the power, you have the choice. You have the ability to make your life into whatever you want, to have whatever you want, to become the person you want to be. It does not matter who you have been up to this moment, it does not matter what you have done up to this moment. What truly matters, the only thing that really matters is what is it that you want in life now, who is it that you want to be now, what is it that you want to accomplish now. Do you know who that is? That is key to this whole thing. In this book, we will take time throughout the chapters, getting to know what that is. We will explore things from within ourselves that move our minds to think the way we do. We will talk about how to have better control of things in our lives, and actually use them to help us move forward. Most people do not reach their goals because they self-sabotage. There are many reasons for that. Many of those reasons come from within, but there are other things in our lives that affect us in ways that control us, even cause us to give up. We will explore all of that. We are going to take the time to understand what those things are that have tremendous effects on our lives, and how can we better control them. There is a saying, “the definition of insanity is doing the same things over and over, and expecting a different outcome.” That means you cannot continue to live your life the same way, doing the same things, and expect your life to be any different. If you want change in your life, you must change the way you do things. It is your choice. It’s your choice to determine what is it that you want to be or achieve. It’s your choice to create the kind of life you want to live. No one else can do for you. Your choice must be to believe. Believe that you can achieve, believe that you are worthy, believe that you have the ability to work towards and accomplish those things that will make your life all it can be, all that you want it to be.
The first thing is to better understand who you are. How did you become the person you are now? We will discuss how your mind works, how your mind helps you to create who you are, and how it helps you to process how you see the world around you. After you get to know how your mind works, we will discuss the power of thinking and the affect it has on every aspect of our lives, mentally, and yes, even physically. We will discuss how your mind creates feelings and emotions that probably have governed you throughout your life. Then, we will get into many different factors that affect your life, some of them you probably have thought of, but do not think of how they have an effect in everything you think and do.
Remember, as you read this book, I want you to keep an open mind to all the topics we discuss. All of these factors DO effect your life. Many of these topics you are aware of, but what this book will do is help you think more on how a particular topic has helped you become the person you are today. The better you understand that, the better you control it, and make the changes for a better life. This book is all about reflecting on yourself and looking honestly at who you are. I hope that you stay honest to this process. Being honest and truthful is key to being able to move your life in a new direction that will bring positive outcomes, but also, it will create an environment that will sustain that movement. You must be able to accept the truth about yourself, no matter what that truth is, even if it is something that is negative, or something you are ashamed of. That way, you can overcome those obstacles and clear the path to success. We all have things we need to improve on. Those of us that are moving to bring positive changes in our lives, spend time working on those things that are getting in our way. That is what this book is about. Understanding who we are, what are the things that affect us, and doing the things that will create a life of purpose, a life that is fulfilling. You have that power. It is your choice.
